A one day training course for Licensing Committee Members and officers who deal with Licensing Act issues at responsible authorities and Gambling Act for new and existing licensing committee members and officers/lawyers involved in the implementation of the Act at a local authority level.
The training is aimed at Licensing Committee Members and is relevant both to existing, as a refresher, and to new Officers, and indeed Lawyers have also attended and found it beneficial.
The training covers the Licensing Act 2003, summarising its main parts, including premises licences, licensing objectives, interested parties and the procedure for hearings with case studies if applicable.
The training covers the Gambling Act 2005 summarising its main parts, including premises licences, licensing objectives, interested parties and the procedure for hearings with case studies if applicable.
The training is interactive and examples are given throughout and discussion invited.
The final part of the training concentrates on Committee conduct, evidence, and good practice in hearings, decision making, fairness and appeals.
Finally, the training is flexible and can be tailored to suit individual requirements.
