“You will have seen from our previous eNews that Welsh Ministers were hoping to bring Minimum Unit Pricing for alcohol (MUP) in Wales into force this summer.
An EU member state has submitted a detailed opinion in respect of the draft regulations that had been put forward and as such the implementation of the MUP has stalled.
Vaughan Gething AM, Minister for Health and Social Services in Wales, has published a statement within which he states that he anticipates the MUP regime will now come into force in early 2020.
We will keep you updated in future e-news as we continue to monitor progress.”
