Promoting responsible play and raising awareness this Safer Gambling Week

The gaming and gambling industry unite together to promote Safer Gambling Week

Each year, the gaming and gambling industry unite together to promote Safer Gambling Week. The nationwide campaign promotes responsible play and raises awareness about gambling risks.

Now in its 7th year, the campaign runs from 18th to 24th November, with an emphasis on engaging players, industry professionals and community organisations in discussions around safer gambling practices, mental wellbeing and accessible support services.

Throughout the week, a wide range of resources and training materials are available on the Safer Gambling Week website. These resources are tailored to help individuals and organisations better understand and address gambling-related issues and harm, with specific sections for:

  1. Resources for the Gambling Industry
  2. Resources for Professionals
  3. Resources for Parents, Carers, Schools, Youth Workers and Universities

With this new age of technology, gambling is more accessible than ever. Players are easily exposed to online casinos, betting platforms and mobile apps, 24/7. With the increase in convenience, there has also been an increase in risk, particularly for individuals vulnerable to gambling-related harm.

To promote the message as far and wide as possible, the industry will be undertaking a range of activities throughout the week, including:

  • Sharing on social media
  • Linking to the Safer Gambling Week website
  • Displayed digital materials
  • Printing and circulating the campaign artwork
