“The Local Government Association has published a Guidebook for Councillors involved in making decisions under the Licensing Act 2003. The Guidebook’s headings include The Role of Councils in Licensing; The Role of Responsible Authorities; A Summary of Key Permissions under the Act; What is a Representation?; Licence Conditions, Hearings and Appeals and Responding to Issues at Licensed Premises, including Reviews and Prosecutions.
In his foreword Councillor Simon Blackburn, Chair of the Safer Stronger Communities Board says that he hopes this Handbook will act as a helpful tool for Licensing Authorities in carrying out their functions under the Licensing Act.
