Commenting, Jonathan Smith, managing partner at Poppleston Allen said: “HMRC has published their public notice giving further information about their Alcohol Wholesaler Registration Scheme (AWRS).
If you’re not already aware, the scheme requires any business selling or trading in alcohol wholesale volumes to be registered. What’s more, if this Scheme affects your business, you must be able to demonstrate that you are fit and proper and be prepared to have your supply chains tested.
Trade buyers will need to prove that any alcohol they stock has been bought from a registered wholesaler.
If you’re wondering how the AWRS affects you, this latest notice might help as it answers:
You can read the public notice here.
If you have questions on how this affects you we can help guide you through the process. Simply call me or one of our solicitors on 0115 953 8500 or 0203 078 7485.”
