About Best Bar None
Best Bar None is a national initiative supported by numerous trade bodies and business including the Home Office, UK Hospitality, British Beer and Pub Association, Mitchells and Butlers and Wetherspoon. The Nottingham initiative, which has been running since 2014, is the largest in the country and now includes over 100 accredited venues and brings major benefits to licensed venues by identifying them as safer and more welcoming places to socialise.
The initiative assesses each venue against their measures to comply with the four licensing objectives: prevention of crime and disorder, improve public safety, protection of children from harm and the prevention of public nuisance. Additionally, venues are also measured on their ability to protect women and girls from harm and reduce vulnerability as part of the Safe Space Pledge.
