Helping a national pub chain with two major acquisitions for a minimum of £49m

Our client, one of the largest pub companies in the UK, was looking to add to its national pub estate with two concurrent multi-million pound acquisitions.

For their purchase of 137 pubs from one operator and 150 from another to take place, licensing Partner Jonathan Smith and his team of paralegals and legal specialists undertook a major licensing due-diligence project.

This involved reviewing a range of licences held by the pubs across the two estates, including reviewing premises licences and speaking with licensing authorities to ensure there was no impending proceedings.

This legal work led to the successful acquisition of the 137 pub estate for £45m and the acquisition of the 150 pubs estate an undisclosed sum.
